They both. Work. They are both different kinds of strength, and they are both heroic and powerful and good. And they each learned from the other, and helped each other out by seeing from each others’ perspective, and finding the value in their differing approaches! Wow!

Because if you’re in favor of not “Killing the Unborn”, then you should continue the fight so their lives are worth living.

If you don’t fight for any of those five things and still say you’re against abortion, ALL YOU’RE FOR IS SCARING PEOPLE INTO KEEPING CHILDREN THEY DON’T WANT/CAN’T HAVE.

And to be honest, all of those five things you should be fighting for anyway, regardless of whether you’re pro-life or pro-choice. Because it’s the decent thing to do.

And yeah, I figured as much for the dolomedes but I just can't compare that black one to anything I've ever seen around here before. On that note, I know next to nothing about spiders aside from the fact that I know which ones I've seen more frequently than others since I was a kid collecting them in jars, etc.

I'd imagine you know far more than I do, but I'd say the far left one fits the bill as a Pisuaridae, but that black, bulbous one more in the middle? The photo is a bit blurry as you know, but the bigger one sorta resembles a Pisuarid, specifically the genus Dolomedes. But either way, there is a 0% chance it’s a black widow, anything in the black widow’s family, or a jumping spider. The size and shape is completely different.

On Tuesday I went to the dentist and one of their interns recognized me as ‘the girl with the snakes’ because she is my cousin’s friend and came over our house when I was home with my animals. Suddenly the small dental office was in an uproar, asking me about my scaly buddies or freaking out because SNAKES. Once everything calmed down I was explaining that I use the snakes to do school education programs. I was asked the age group and when I replied the youngest class I did was a three and four year old nursery class the hygenist who asked grimaced and then said, “Well, I bet the boys love it.”

I’m sorry, I’m female and I’m the one who owns the snakes and does the programs? Am I now male? Does liking snakes somehow change my masculine status?I know she didn’t mean anything by it but I’m getting tired of those statements. I am convinced that fear or snakes is learned so this sort of gendering of animals is dangerous. I have been pleasantly surprised by how many women I’ve found in herpetology and it’s annoying to hear this statement in all of its iterations. I caught a snake in my backyard when I was two (there’s a picture as proof), clearly, snakes aren’t just for boys, stop acting like it.
